Amped Up at Dunloggin

It has been an amazing journey so far at our Dunloggin Academy in just three weeks! Over the past weeks, our students have immersed themselves through the basics of electrical engineering, culminating in a rich learning experience filled with innovation and hands-on activities.

Our adventure began with a mind-churning challenge where they were tasked to create a WiggleBot out of a motor, a cup, and a few popsicle sticks which were both loud and extremely fun. We then took a deep dive into Arduinos and breadboards. The students eagerly learned about breadboard components and how to utilize these components within simple Arduino circuits. This knowledge was immediately put into practice where they were tasked to test their newfound knowledge and answer fun-filled questions through Quizizz!

As of recently, the students have continued to learn more about code functions and how to utilize this code to complete a certain task. The students successfully attempted three challenges, each increasing in difficulty. They first created a code for a blinking LED then, alternating blinking LEDs, and finally the toughest challenge so far, a flashing RGB! Even though at times they struggled, the students persevered through these challenges and were ultimately able to complete them and watch their hard work pay off.

The students have already had such an amazing time and worked tirelessly to understand what we have taught them thus far. Next week, we look forward to introducing them to a new surprise that will be sure to excite them and further test their creativity on a new level.
