End of the TechWreck Week

The TechWreck Summer Academy just wrapped up today! It has been an amazing week and the students learned many kinds of engineering this week.

Quick Ice Breaker from Day 1 - Would You Rather?

The first day they learned Scratch programming and had a chance to create some games. To demonstrate their knowledge, we gave them a Week-Long challenge to create their own game. The winner will receive a SUR-PRIZE and have a spotlight feature on our blog! Submit your games by tonight at 11:59 PM and stay tuned for results!

The second day we covered electrical engineering and worked with OR, AND, and NOT logic gates to give the students an idea of how the hardware behind computers worked. The third day we covered 3D modeling using Autodesk TinkerCAD. This software simulated the 3D modeling software that engineers use in the real world! The fourth day we covered civil engineering with a focus on bridges. The students had a fun and interactive experience making their own bridges using an online program and trying various challenges. The fifth and final day was VEX VR and the kids had fun coding an online robot!

Thanks to all the parents and students that joined us for our first virtual academy and we hope you had as much fun attending it as we had teaching it!

These are some students from our TechWreck Online Summer Camp!
