This week marked a thrilling first for the WEngineer team—we hit the road for a hands-on three-day STEM summer camp at Crossroads School – Living Classrooms in Baltimore.
For three jam-packed days, our engineers-in-training dove headfirst into the fascinating world of physics. We kicked things off with the essentials: forces, torque, aerodynamics, and those tricky free body diagrams. But this wasn’t just theory—students transformed concepts into action through a series of electrifying challenges designed to put their newfound knowledge to the test.
Obstacle Mastery: Using Sphero robots, campers designed and maneuvered through custom obstacle courses, mastering precision and control.
Rubber Band Racers: With torque and tension as their tools, students engineered and raced their very own rubber band cars, learning just how fast innovation can roll.
Airborne Ambitions: In a paper airplane showdown, creativity met aerodynamics in a battle for flight distance, airtime, and style points.
Beyond the experiments and competitions, the excitement was contagious. Seeing curiosity turn into confidence and ideas take shape was the real win. The WEngineer team left Baltimore buzzing with inspiration and already dreaming up next year’s challenges.
We can’t wait to bring even more STEM education to students—Baltimore, thanks for having us!
